Between 2007 and 2016, I practiced in the areas of civil litigation and family law (in addition to handling some elder abuse victim actions). As of August 2016, I have been working solely within the area of family law, handling divorces, legal separations, paternity actions, custody and visitation cases, domestic violence restraining orders, civil harassment restraining orders, move-away requests and spousal support and/or child support as well.
I have handled hundreds of motions and I am regularly litigating in hearings and trials; however, I am also willing to discuss and negotiate settlements which may lead to stipulations. I will extend the olive branch to discuss disputes reasonably, or even attend mediation with the client for the sake of coming to a non-litigated resolution. However, I am also an experienced litigator and I will abide by the client’s desire to continue negotiations, or, litigate the matter, if there just cannot be an agreed resolution. Most importantly, pursuant to the California ethics standards, I leave the “big case decisions” solely to the client, even though I am constantly informing and advising my client on the consequences of taking one route over another. I am a fearless litigator, but I also give my client the full freedom, choice and authority to make those weightier decisions that will affect life for the longer term.
