I’m Blane McCarthy, a Jacksonville attorney since 1995 and mediator since 2000. As a Certified Circuit Mediator, I help bring peaceful resolutions to disputes in a way that is quick, professional, and cost-effective.
Types of cases mediated: Personal Injury, Commercial, Probate, Foreclosure, Consumer, Nursing Home, Construction, Insurance, Collections.
This is what I “do” in my legal career. Yet, being a lawyer is not my identity. First and foremost, I am a Jesus follower. My goal is to remain true to my Christian faith in every aspect of my life, including my profession. Many people wrongly think that the words Christian attorney do not go together. Being a Christian lawyer is not only possible, but necessary and advisable for those who also follow Jesus.
When I identify myself as a Christian lawyer, I intend to convey that I am a Christian first and a lawyer second. I will not force my Christian faith on you and will respect your right to privacy and choice about personal spiritual matters. But I do strive to represent myself in a way that honors my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I aim to demonstrate the genuineness of the label Christian attorney.

How it works and sample interview questions
Once you have requested a Member Spotlight, our founder Blane McCarthy will connect with you to schedule the interview and to learn which 2-3 questions you have selected from the list below. The interview will be conducted via Zoom at the designated day and time.
That’s it! The entire interview process should take less than 15 minutes.
1. Please tell us a little bit about yourself. (Discuss life/work history,
family, faith journey, etc.)
2. Describe your law practice. (what types of cases you handle, what types of
clients you help, any relevant credentials, etc.)
3. You are on the Christian Lawyer Directory, publicly aligning with
Jesus. Tell us your salvation testimony. (your life before meeting Jesus →
how/when/why you met Jesus → your life after meeting Him)
4. Why did you become a lawyer? (share your back story, motivation, or life
experience that lead to that decision)
5. How do you spend your time when not at work? (discuss hobbies,
organizations, community service, family activities, etc.)
6. What can your clients expect of you? (speak to whatever attributes you
live out in your client interactions – diligence, thoroughness, accessibility, compassion,
etc.)
7. How do you incorporate your Christian faith into your profession
and the handling of client matters? (explain how you live your faith 24/7, not
just on Sunday mornings)
