Andrea S. Childs is a lawyer, mediator, arbitrator and Christian conciliator. She maintains a general legal practice focusing on the legal fields of business law, estate planning, probate and eldercare; real estate and immigration (particularly religious workers). She is a qualified neutral and mediates for businesses (including the REDRESS program for the U.S. Postal service), in courts, communities, schools, families, churches, and in private practice.nAndrea has served as a Conciliation Court Judge in Hennepin County and has been an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas, teaching business law to M.B.A. students. She currently serves on the board of Christian Investors Financial and completed a six-year term on the national board of the Evangelical Free Church of America in June, 2015. She founded a statewide conciliation network, was the cofounder of an environmental school and served as the lawyer member of the Minnesota Senate Advisory Committee studying licensure of alternative medical practitioners. She has served on the boards of the Christian Legal Society, Community Mediation and Restorative Services, and the YWCA.nPrior to being licensed as a lawyer, Andrea was a financial planner, holding both securities and insurance licenses. She gained experience advising top corporate management on complex financial and legal matters and she was subsequently hired by the Dayton family, where she served as head of financial and estate planning in the family’s private intergenerational family office. Her strengths include legal and financial analysis, contract negotiation, research, investigation, writing, systems analysis, strategic and organizational planning , mediation and other types of alternative dispute resolution.nAndrea holds a B.A. in Economics from Wellesley College and a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law. Andrea and her husband of 36 years have two married daughters.
