Craig Lawrence is a Partner at the corporate law firm of Balch & Bingham. Lawrence has a broad range of experience in emerging technologies, banking, financial services and real estate, both inside and outside of law. He advises clients on the following matters: commercial real estate transactions, lease transactions, entity formation and asset purchases.
Before joining Balch & Bingham, Lawrence was a partner at a regional law firm and boutique law firm, practicing in the areas of corporate and real estate law. He is a former assistant vice president of a regional banking and financial solutions provider. In this role, he assisted with analysis and optimization of retail and small business banking division as well as tracking and analyzing key performance metrics for executive management. Lawrence is a former associate with the Alabama Small Business Development Network, a statewide network helping enhance economic growth throughout Alabama through small business.
Lawrence received his J.D. in 2012 from Samford University Cumberland School of Law, alongside an MBA the same year from Samford University’s Brock School of Business. As a law student, he received the Scholar of Merit in Lawyering and Legal Reasoning and served as a judiciary committee law clerk to U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL). As an MBA student, Lawrence received a merit scholarship and was selected by faculty to assist a Birmingham start-up. He received his B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy in 2008 from the University of Alabama.
