Hello. I am Brian. I was born in Jackson, Tennessee, and was raised on my grandfather’s farm in a neighboring county. My parents were both public school teachers. I graduated from Union University and then earned my law degree from the University of Memphis School of Law.
My first job out of law school was as an Assistant District Attorney. I prosecuted criminal defendants in Juvenile, General Sessions, and Circuit Court who were charged with everything from truancy and violation of open container to sexual exploitation of a minor under thirteen (13), aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of methamphetamine/cocaine/crack cocaine, etc. with intent to sell or deliver and so on.
I was later appointed as an Assistant Attorney General in Nashville and served in the Criminal Justice Division. There, it was my job to make sure trial court convictions were upheld on appeal. I routinely filed briefs in and argued before both the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals and the Tennessee Supreme Court. I later served as a member of the Division’s Death Penalty/Federal Habeas Corpus team where I represented the State in every Federal District Court in Tennessee and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. I am also licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
I later accepted a position as a Special Assistant United States Attorney serving pursuant to the to Project Safe Neighborhoods Act. As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, I prosecuted defendants, many of whom were illegal immigrants, who were charged with extremely serious gun and drug charges.
I now use my knowledge and experience primarily in representing men and women who have been charged with criminal offenses. I also represent men and women in divorces, custody, and child support disputes, as well as in collections and other civil actions. Further, I draft living wills, regular wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and deeds.
I am here to serve the citizens of West Tennessee. I am so blessed to have been able to have served to many people in their time of legal need, and I would be honored to serve you or your loved one.
