Why join Christian Lawyer Directory?

There is a large and loyal Christian population that would rather hire lawyers who share their faith. We aim to connect Christian lawyers to those who are seeking them. Please understand that the Christian Lawyer Directory is not a means of capitalizing on our faith or exploiting those who share it. While the Christian Lawyer Directory provides its lawyers with a cost-effective means of marketing, lawyer membership decisions should not be driven by client generation goals alone. Each lawyer's membership benefits four distinct groups.

Beneficiary #1 – Citizens. In addition to "Helping you find the Christian lawyers you seek", the Christian Lawyer Directory provides a wealth of free legal information on its website, most of which is provided by member lawyers.

Beneficiary #2 – Pastors. The Christian Lawyer Directory helps pastors serve church members who need legal help by being a resource pastors can use and recommend. Furthermore, we help pastors steward church resources by providing them with a FREE monthly Church Law Tip email to help pastors reduce or avoid legal risks that are common to churches.

Beneficiary #3 – Christian radio stations. The Christian Lawyer Directory makes itself known to Christian communities through its financial sponsorship of local Christian radio stations. Not only is this a good way to reach our intended audience, but it also sows financial seeds into ministries that serve the Lord and His people.

Beneficiary #4 – Member Lawyers. The Christian Lawyer Directory benefits its member lawyers by connecting them to prospective clients and by providing a forum for its member lawyers to declare their faith and adhere to a higher standard.

How is the Christian Lawyer Directory a cost-effective means of marketing for Christian lawyers?

The Christian population is a large and loyal pool of prospective clients, many of whom would prefer to hire a lawyer of their same faith for their legal needs. The Christian Lawyer Directory aims squarely to address this need. Our focus is singular.

Furthermore, by joining the Christian Lawyer Directory, our member lawyers get the benefit of collective branding and pooled marketing resources. Making your name memorable to potential clients is difficult and expensive. It is hard to compete with the big advertisers on a limited marketing budget. If member lawyers were to redirect the funds required for membership to personal advertising, they would find that such monies purchase very little exposure and generate very little advertising return.

However, when member lawyers allocate that modest monthly marketing budget to the Christian Lawyer Directory, they get the benefit of pooling those resources to obtain a level of exposure that would otherwise be unavailable. Additionally, this pooled money not only purchases more exposure, but also creates a "one stop shop" brand to service any and all legal needs. Training potential clients to go to one source for any legal need is far more effective than is training them to go to lawyer X for a particular need, lawyer Y for another need, etc.

Member lawyers can expect to reap a far greater proportionate return on their marketing budget and a larger base of quality clients who either share or value our Christian faith. As there is no long-term contract commitment, lawyers are free to discontinue their membership should they fail to realize such positive returns.

In short, the minimal monthly membership fee provides a very cost-effective means for Christian lawyers to become known to the large and loyal Christian population in their communities.

How is Christian Lawyer Directory promoted to the Christian community?

We recognize that making the Christian Lawyer Directory known to our intended audience is critical to the aim of connecting the Christian community to the Christian lawyers they seek. Our service, website and concept may be wonderful, but their value is nil if the Christian population does not know that this resource exists.

When considering options for promoting the Christian Lawyer Directory, our founder felt led of God to focus on Christian radio ministries rather than using secular advertising. By this approach, our means of "promotion" can not only generate connections between the Christian community and our member lawyers, but can also sow financial seeds into ministries that serve the Lord in their markets.

The Christian Lawyer Directory will begin sponsoring Christian radio stations in any geographic area (market) where it has or is pursuing member lawyers. As membership in that market increases, so too will the number of Christian radio stations sponsored and/or the extent of the financial sponsorship at each station (to increase the frequency of sponsorship commercials). The Christian Lawyer Directory reinvests no less than 50% of its membership dues revenue into local promotion. We are serious about spreading the word!

What can I do to increase the promotion of Christian Lawyer Directory in my market?

As mentioned above, the Christian Lawyer Directory is committed to financially sponsoring radio stations where we have member lawyers. We reinvest no less than 50% of our membership dues revenue into local promotions on Christian radio stations. Thus, our local promotion expendituress are tied to our membership dues revenues.

You can help increase our local promotions by helping us increase our local lawyer membership. Spreading the news about the Christian Lawyer Directory to your Christian lawyer colleagues and "recruiting" them to visit the site and join benefits you, them, the local radio stations, and the intended audience who listens to those stations.

You can also help increase our local promotions by adding and/or enhancing your listings. By increasing your dues contribution, you increase our local promotions budget.

Why do you identify the Christian population as "large and loyal"?

While this nation may be straying from its Judeo-Christian heritage, the United States of America is still predominantly a Christian nation.

As for the loyalty of the Christian population, look no farther than your mirror, assuming that you are a member of that population. More so than other consumer groups, Christians are more apt to hire professionals who:

share their faith,

have a reputation for quality and integrity,

have been recommended to them by their Christian peers,

financially support causes that they value, and

are well-regarded by their pastors.

The Christian Lawyer Directory does all of the above, and member lawyers benefit from the loyalty that the large Christian population is showing toward our service.

How does the Christian Lawyer Directory determine who qualifies as a "Christian lawyer"?

The Christian Lawyer Directory works on an honor system, asking that all member lawyers acknowledge and agree to our Statement of Faith and our Code of Conduct. Admittedly, it is not a perfect or foolproof method of screening.

Yet, we hope and anticipate that our member lawyers are sincere and genuine in their faith. We are not looking for lawyers who live their faith on Sundays only, nor lawyers who are Christian in name only, claiming Christianity because they cannot claim anything else.

Should a member lawyer fail to meet these standards, their membership will be involuntarily terminated. We will not allow any member lawyer to tarnish the excellent name of Christ.

How are member listings displayed on the site?

Enhanced listings are displayed before standard listings. In each category, listings are displayed in random order. Enhanced listings not only appear higher in the search results, but also have more content and features (additional text, map-it feature, etc.).

What is the cost of lawyer membership?

The total cost of a particular lawyer's membership will depend on the number and type of listings purchased. Standard listings cost $50 per month while Enhanced listings cost $100 per month. Member lawyers can also link their listing to cities other than where their office is located, to expand the geographic reach of, and traffic to, their listing. Member lawyers with more than one office, or law firms with more than one Christian lawyer, can purchase additional listings for each location or lawyer at discounted rates, as each listing is for only one lawyer and one office address. How are membership dues paid?

Dues are paid only via automated, monthly credit/debit card charges. No other form of payment is accepted.

How are the membership dues spent?

The Christian Lawyer Directory allocates and spends its gross membership dues revenue as follows:
10% = tithe
40% = website, general administration, marketing to prospective member lawyers and profit (if any
50% = local promotions - financial on-air sponsorships of Christian radio stations where we have or are pursuing member lawyers

How long does a lawyer membership contract last?

Ours is not a long-term, high risk commitment. Membership contracts are month-to-month, paid via automated, monthly credit/debit card charges. A member lawyer can cancel or modify his or her membership at any time prior to the next monthly charge. The Christian Lawyer Directory reserves the right to terminate any lawyer's membership: "For cause", if the lawyer breaches the membership contract terms. "At its discretion" via immediate cancellation (with a pro-rata dues refund for the portion of the month voided) or via nonrenewal at the end of the paid month.

Is it difficult to modify or cancel my membership, should I decide to join?

No. Member lawyers can cancel or modify their membership by logging onto their profile page and making the adjustments. The website is mostly fully automated, allowing the member lawyer to directly control their membership status.

As mentioned above, membership contracts are month-to-month. Lawyers who wish to cancel or modify their membership can generally do so themselves at any time prior to the next automated monthly credit/debit card charge. A lawyer who cancels his membership forfeits the previously paid dues for the current membership month, voids the automated monthly credit/debit card charge, and is immediately deleted from the membership database. A lawyer may also expand (adding or enhancing listings) or reduce (surrendering listings or enhancements to listings) her membership. Such modifications are mostly self-executing, with few exceptions that will require CLD administrator assistance. The price adjustments caused by the lawyer-initiated modifications will take effect on the next billing cycle.

In summary, member lawyers directly control the length and scope of their membership. They are generally not dependent on permission or assistance from the Christian Lawyer Directory to accomplish these tasks.
